Supporters have proposed that JASTA be amended to explicitly limit the award of damages to only those arising from the 9/11 attacks. However, this leaves off the table punishing other state sponsors of terrorism including Iran-- which should be the object of U.S. counterterrorism policy, as well as all other terror attacks before and since 9/11. – Real Clear Defense
