Libya’s UN-backed government frees former prime minister Libya’s former Prime Minister Ali Zeidan has been freed nine days after his abduction in Tripoli, a relative of Zeidan said on Wednesday. Zeidan was held by a group affiliated with the UN-backed government in Tripoli, though he faced no judicial charges. The UN-backed government has not commented on the case and the reasons behind Zeidan’s visit to Libya remain unclear.
